A miniaturized, high pressure, high speed pulsed valve for supersonic expansion, designed for scientific applications.
This high-pressure jet source enables the cooling of large aromatic molecules to temperatures lower than 1K. Due to its short opening time, the pumping requirements can be significantly reduced (300 l/s typical at 10-5 Torr and 10 Hz).
Pulse lengths down to 10 μs FWHM, at a pressure of 100 bars, have been achieved.

This valve is corrosion resistant; all exposed parts are inert (Stainless steel alloys, Oxide ceramics and polyimide).
Several models are available
Room Temperature or elevated Temperature; Low repetition rate (up to 40 Hz) or High repetition rate (up to 1KHz).

The valves can be provided with an efficient, grounded coaxial hot filament ionizer mounted near the nozzle exit.
All models are supplied with a dedicated high-current pulse driver, which can be triggered externally (TTL) or internally, with a synchronized output pulse.
